English

In our first week in Chestnut class we have been reading Silly Billy by Anthony Browne. He is given worry dolls by his Grandma to help him with all his worries. We then designed, described and made our own worry doll to take home.

RE

In RE we are answering the question 'How should we care for others and the world and why does it matter?

We watched the story of the The Rainbow fish and the good samaritan and talked about how they both show friendship and kindness. We then acted out the story of the Good Samaritan in groups.

Art

This term we are learning about the British artist Andy Goldsworthy. He uses only nature to create his sculptures. He experiments with nature and how the elements can affect his artwork. We have done our own experiment. We have create our own sculptures in the forest and next week we will compare what they look like after being left for 1 week. These are our sculptures once they were made.

English

We have been readin Lubna and Pebble and writing our own stories. We have then created our own pebble friend.

Forest

We had a great time exploring the forest today after lots of rainfall! Lots of mud!

Art

Today we have been experimenting with different shapes of of clay. Andy Goldsworthy has created incredible art through clay and watching it crack once dried. We will see what happens to the different thickness, length and shapes of the clay next week.

English

We have written lost posters using adjectives and expanded noun phrases. Fudge the teddy bear fell off a magic carpet in France so we needed to find him! Luckily he was found soaking wet in the River Siene.

Mission

We have finished off our mission 'Where are we in the UK?' with an exciting splashdown. We have created a booklet zooming out from us, to Old Sodbury School, to Bristol, to England, to the Uk and the 7 continents. We really enjoyed making these!

Art

We finished our art project off by creating our own forest art using clay and natural resources. We created faces and patterns in the forest. We had a fantastic time creating these!
