Our School Vision

“Let your light shine” Matthew 5:16

At Old Sodbury, we believe that every child has the right to know what it feels like to be successful. We want our children to understand how special and unique they are and to recognise the power they have to change the world. We want them to be the best possible versions of themselves and, with knowledge of God’s love, to let their light shine.

Our values are the qualities that underpin our vision. To be the best they can be, we will teach our children the values of:

Courage “Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Compassion “Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12

Respect “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Matthew 7:12

Our aims exemplify our vision and values. To achieve their full potential, we want our children to be:

Courageous learners who seize opportunities, challenge themselves and have high expectations of what they can achieve;

Compassionate individuals who support one another to stay safe, healthy and happy and who are empowered to make positive contributions;

Responsible citizens who value diversity and show respect for themselves, the environment and their community.

Ethos Statement

 Old Sodbury CE Primary School aims to provide every pupil and member of our wider school community with an experience of Christian life and worship, fostering respect, attitudes of tolerance, care and forgiveness through our school values.

We seek to celebrate our children's individuality and provide them with a safe, supportive and happy place within which to thrive and develop with a deeper knowledge and understanding of God's love for them.
